To justify lockdowns, Deborah Birx used a faulty COVID-19 model presented by Neil Ferguson of the Imperial College of London that estimated 2.2 million Americans would die if nothing was done. Birx conspired with Anthony Fauci, to convince President Trump to shut down the United States, effectively killing the economy, the ripple effect of which led to dramatic increases in suicides, drug overdoses, domestic violence, child abuse, and murder.
Birx also doctored weekly Covid reports to the states coming from the White House. In her book "Silent Invasion: The Untold Story of the Trump Administration, Covid-19, and Preventing the Next Pandemic Before It's Too Late", she admitted that she would "reinsert what [the White House] had objected to and place it in different locations". She also went on to brag: "Our Saturday and Sunday report-writing routine became: write, submit, revise, hide, resubmit. Fortunately, this strategic sleight-of-hand worked. They never seemed to catch [the] subterfuge".

Birx also admitted that she knew the vaccines would not protect against infection, yet she pushed them anyway. She went on to note that 50% of the people that died during the Omicron surge were vaccinated. "I knew these vaccines were not going to protect against infection. And I think we overplayed the vaccines, and it made people then worry that it’s not going to protect against severe disease and hospitalization. It will. But let’s be very clear: 50% of the people who died from the Omicron surge were older, vaccinated".
After all of her lies and deceit, her recommendations of lockdowns, masks, social distancing, and vaccination resulted on a 0.2% reduction in Covid-related mortality.
