Ralph Baric

As head of genetic engineering at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Ralph Baric oversaw the development of biological weapons for the U.S. government through gain-of-function research. When the Obama administration ordered all gain-of-function research to cease in 2014, Baric partnered together with Anthony Fauci to move the operation to China, where the work continued under the direction of George Fu Gao and Shi Zhengli at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
